Alvar Aalto Model 31 Armchair

This Aalto chair required the chipped old lacquer to be removed. Once this was removed I found the previous owner painted the seat purple then later had painted over this with black. The seat was sanded back along with the arms and the de lamination in the legs has been fixed. Over time the honey colour of the arms/legs had faded so these were stained and wax sealed, along with returning the seat to its original black again. To finish the seat received a lacquer finish for shine and protection.
